Stop Making Excuses

Excuses- A reason or explanation put forward to defend or justify a fault or offense. Lets look at a few scriptures (Luke 14 15-23) Yes, get out your Bible you'll need it to see this! So, Luke verse 24 Jesus says"Not one of those invited will get a taste of my banquet". Why? In verse 16 we see where Jesus said a certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests, But once everything had been prepared and the people were to come they begin to make many excuses...One said' I have just bought a field, and i must go and see it. Please excuse me.' "Another said,'I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I'm on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.' And, "Still another said,'I just got married, so i can't come.' Have you ever been a host of a dinner party or banquet and nobody showed up and the excuses begin to roll in, I have..... It's not a good feeling you may have prepared the best meal money can buy, spent days maybe even years preparing for this special party and no one accepted your invitation... Now imagine how God feels when he has offered his son as a sacrifice for our salvation. When i looked over this i thought about how the table has been prepared for you a I full of spiritual foods like love, joy, peace, self-control and patience but, all the people where to busy to receive. These verses are the perfect example of how good things like everyday responsibilities can keep us so busy that we have no time for God, I've been there myself many people turned down the invitation to the banquet because of the timing was inconvenient. I would like to encourage you today to respond to God's call his personal invitation to the banquet and come........ Taste and see that the Lord is God.
